Within the framework of the Center's activities in the field of quality and accreditation of laboratories, our center visited a team from the Iraqi Accreditation Authority as part of the annual follow-up plan on Sunday 21/10/2018 from 9 am to 4 pm. The team conducted the annual evaluation plan within the criteria of evaluation and reference documents:
ISO / IEC 17025: 2005 and the requirements of the Iraqi Accreditation System and the requirements for using the accreditation logo
* Quality documentation for laboratory, quality manual and laboratory procedures
The team visited the laboratories and supervised some of the tests that were conducted before the team and the audit of the administrative and technical quality documents with the quality manager and the laboratory officials and with the management of the center and concluded the visit with success and good evaluation. The team commended the efforts exerted in the administrative and technical work and the maintenance of work within the standard with the existence of some minor cases of non- Must be corrected within a maximum period of three months from the date of the visit.
Among the activities of our center ... for the cultural season in its 20th century (20). Zahraa Zahrao Farhan Lecture entitled ((principle of the work of the Spectrophotometer spectroscopy)) on Monday, 28/5/2018 on the blue hall where the lecture summarized the following:
The principle of the operation of Spectrophotometer spectroscopy
The spectrometer is used in many chemical and biochemical laboratories to measure the concentration of various factors such as phosphates, nitrates, nitrite, sulphates, silicates, heavy metals, pigments, sugar etc. This device has a wide range of uses Analytical analysis. The optical spectrometer is a quantitative method to measure the absorbance or reflectivity of the sample using wavelengths. The basic principle of this method is that "each compound absorbs or reflects light through a specific range of wavelengths" where the device measures the amount of photons absorbed by the sample when the light passes through, and thus get the concentration of material to be examined.
Among the activities of our center ... for the cultural season in the nineteen seminar (19) Mr. Ahmed Safaa al-Taei gave a lecture entitled ((soil pollution with hydrocarbons)) on Monday, 21/5/2018 on the blue hall where his lecture summarized as follows:
Hydrocarbon in chemistry is any chemical compound consisting only of carbon and hydrogen. These compounds consist of a series of carbon and hydrogen atoms that are related to that chain. The term hydrocarbons is often used as a abbreviation for hydrocarbon aliphatic, hydrocarbons can be found in the form of propane or liquid Benzene and hexane), candles and low-melting solids (naphthalene) or polymers.
Soil contaminants can be divided into:
Organic pollutants
Such as aromatic hydrocarbons, pesticides and petroleum products.
Inorganic pollutants
A. Micro and toxic elements such as: (arsenic - cadmium - mercury) and others.
B. Nitrogen.
C. Radioisotopes.
Among the activities of our Center ... for the 17th Cultural Season (17th). Azhar Mahmoud Halim lecture entitled ((biological risk management system)) on Monday, 7/5/2018 on the blue hall and discussed the subject, The present lecture includes many statements about biorisk management system and its important, beside principles, techniques, and practices that aim to prevent the unintentional exposure to biological agents and toxins, or their accidental release, and the protection, control and accountability for biological agents and toxins within laboratories, in order to prevent their loss, theft, misuse, diversion of, unauthorized access or intentional unauthorized release.
The present lecture concentrated on the most effective factors on successes biorisk management system like, risk definition, risk assessment, biorisk policies, mitigations, inventory, PPE, emergency plans, waste management. As well as described Biorisk management system in university of technology as case study.
